Welcome to the San Antonio Chapter of the Biomedical Engineering Society
Welcome to the Biomedical Engineering Society at the University of Texas San Antonio and the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. The local chapter of BMES acts to support the students of the joint biomedical engineering doctoral program. The chapter is responsible for planning social events, industry events, outreach opportunities and other activities for members of the society in San Antonio.
The doctoral program in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas San Antonio and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio currently has nearly 40 graduate students, and will graduate its first PhDs this Spring. The program takes advantage of the engineering and basic sciences at the University of Texas San Antonio, and the clinical and medical expertise at the Health Science Center in San Antonio. Additionally, many students collaborate with faculty in the Research Imaging Center and the Cancer Therapy Research Center.

To promote the increase of biomedical engineering knowledge and its utilization through student support and industry and community outreach.
